On Thursday, April 26, L.A Girl Fancies had the pleasure of attending An Evening of Total Electrolytenment, an event hosted by resource® 100% Natural Spring Water, Jeremiah Brent from The Rachel Zoe Project and one of my favorite sites, Daily Candy. The event celebrated the launch of resource® 100% Natural Spring Water, a great new eco-friendly product now available to consumers in Southern California. The fun-filled event was held at L.A.’s SmogShoppe, a former smogshop that is now a 100% solar powered event space, and featured delicious resource® water, mouthwatering food, great music and several Los Angeles based lifestyle experts who offered many tips on nutrition, fitness, beauty, fashion and food. The event also supported the outstanding local Los Angeles nonprofit organization Women Empowered. Truly a night to remember.
I had the opportunity to talk to best-selling author Christine Avanti, who is also the celebrity chef and health consultant on The Food Network’s Fat Chef. She gave me a yummy detox cocktail and a copy of her book Skinny Chicks Don’t Eat Salads which I cannot wait to read and review. I also spoke to Kate Highstrete of Ballet Bodies fitness studio in Beverly Hills who offered some great fitness advice. Their studio has trained A-list beauties such as Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Anniston with their remarkable combination of the fundamentals of Pilates and ballet. I can’t wait to try it. I also had the distinct pleasure of meeting and trying some of Chef Meg Hall’s extremely delicious food. She is the founder of the Los Angeles based catering company Made by Meg and a featured chef on Kitchit, a new company that allows diners to hire top-caliber professional chefs for their dinner parties and events in the Los Angeles and Bay Area.
Renowned makeup artist and director of artistry & relations at Blushington Makeup and Beauty Lounge, Emma Willis, talked about Blushington’s beauty services and gave me her perspective on BB Creams. She recommended Stila stay all day 10-in-1 HD beauty balm which I plan to try. I also got to speak to Melissa Gonzalez, CEO of Lion’esque Style, an online shop offering the hottest new emerging brands first. She showed me some of the items that can be purchased on her site including a beautiful eco-chic faux crocodile foldover clutch that you would never know was faux. Lastly, I met Shelly Ulaj founder and CEO of Women Empowered, a nonprofit organization committed to the empowerment of women through volunteerism, mentorship of at risk teen girls, the giving and receiving of support, social and professional networking and professional and personal development workshops and seminars. I hope to do join them soon. We had a great time filled with wonderful people who we are so thankful to for sharing some great insights in their field of expertise.
