The Best of London Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2012

London Fashion Week came and went very quickly sharing with us England’s best fashion designers. Five full days of women’s ready to wear collections that featured some of the same trends we saw in New York. Not much fur in London’s collections but there was a clear emphasis on cinching at the waist. The use of belts to create a more alluring ensemble were used when the design was not form fitting. There was also a good number of collections that featured fifties inspired designs beautifully adorned with lace and applique.

Although I do love a punk vibe in fashion, there were some collections that bordered on punk meets rainbow bright and were just a bit too flamboyant for me. Don’t get me wrong, one of the things that I loved about London’s fashion week was their great use of color. The combination of vibrant colors with luminous and muted fabrics created  a gorgeous balance that I have not seen lately. Here are some of my favorite pieces.
